Eddie Stern posted this video this morning and it got me thinking, now I'm authorised ( see previous post) I might set up a teachers training course but instead of it being 200 hours it'll be just 16 minutes and 28 seconds and in place of a certificate you just get a grin on.
I'm sure there must be something else we need to know about practice other than what we find in this video but it escapes me.
While on the subject of TT's, mine was excellent, 200 hours with Srivatsa Ramaswami and I don't think any of us were actually there for the piece of paper at the end ( mine was worthless in the UK anyway), we just wanted to spend time with Ramaswami. I can't begin to express what I learnt in those five weeks, still processing it four years latter. Ramaswami studied with Krishnamacharya for over thirty years, and I could have spent five years in that classroom and studio and still only scratch the surface of what both men had/have to share. Did it prepare me to teach, I didn't think so at the time but Ramaswami I think expected me to go out and share it, I settled for sharing it on the blog while I explored it further. Tomorrow I'll be in Ulm, Germany, I'll be presenting a workshop on Krishnamacharya and Vinyasa Krama and I know I'll be hearing my teachers voice when I say "stretch, stretch, stretch", if you see me smile, you'll know why.

I'm going to stick with best ever Guruji video, most of the Pattabhi Jois YouTube videos I can think of are of Patabhi Jois leading the count, working a room or giving a short talk. Here we have him giving an introduction and then talking over a small group working through Ashtanga postures, chuckling away to himself, fascinating stuff and wish we had the video of the whole demonstration.
Here's that 10 second Inhalation/10 second exhalation again. (6:00)
48 Suryanamaskaras every day (7.00)
finishing sequence (11:30)
150 breaths in Shoulderstand (12.35)
also the three hour headstand and where to place the head or not
